Anchored in a Shaking World
With global conflicts, rising economic instability, and deep moral confusion, many feel like the ground beneath them is crumbling. People grasp for control in a world that seems increasingly out of control. Yet the Bible reminds us that God is not shaken. In uncertain times, we are called to fix our eyes on what cannot be moved—the kingdom of God and the promises of His Word.
“Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.”
The kingdoms of this world rise and fall, but the kingdom of God is eternal. In Hebrews, we are reminded that while the earth trembles, God's kingdom stands unshaken. Those who belong to Christ are citizens of this eternal kingdom—not because of merit, but because of grace. That reality gives us peace when the world unravels around us.
Supporting Scripture
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.”
Psalm 46 reflects the confidence of those who know the Lord as their unshakable refuge. Even when everything collapses, God remains faithful and near. The world may shift beneath our feet, but the foundation laid in Christ remains firm.
Application
We are not promised a stable world, but we are promised a faithful Savior. Today, consider whether your hope is anchored in temporal security or eternal truth. When news headlines stir fear, turn to the unchanging promises of Scripture. Let His Word root your soul in confidence and holy reverence.
Ways to live anchored in Christ:
- Start each day in the Word, not the news
- Pray with confidence in God's sovereign hand
- Encourage others with Scripture rather than fear
- Serve God faithfully in small things today
Lord, thank You for giving us a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Help me to live with reverence and trust, knowing You rule over all. Let my heart find rest in You, not in the stability of this world. Make me a light to others, pointing them to the peace found only in Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
